Inside the Development Project: From Site to Strategy

In this MRE Faculty Conversation, Will Kohn Fleissig and David Hamilton will discuss The Development Project, a signature MRE course in which students take on the role of developer and prepare proposals for complex urban sites. Drawing on Fleissig’s work as an architect, planner, and developer of large-scale mixed-use districts, and Hamilton’s experience in real estate development and conservation projects, they will explore how students engage directly with investors, public officials, housing advocates, and other stakeholders; collaborate with GSD design studios; and learn to make sound judgments amid the competing demands and uncertainties of real estate practice.
